04/24/2006 - 04/26/2006 - Outage! Sorry about that. My colo provider had a hardware failure, and I pulled the box out of their facility to do some upgrades (which didn't go well). Then they neglected to call me about putting the box back, and are dragging their feet about getting it back in on 4/26. I rarely have problems with them. But when I do, they utterly suck at keeping me in the loop.
Wow! Slacking there.

05/24/2005 - Momentary outage of the wiki. This was due to a bonehead mistake on my part while attempting to set up a wiki for another hosted user. It's nowhere near ready yet, and there will undoubtedly be more boneheaded errors on my part as I go. Sorry in advance.

July 2004
On 7/2/2004, 13 people went to dinner at Champps in Reston, VA. Some of us were members of the Friday Night Group, an informal shooting group. The others were guests and family. 6 of us were open carrying handguns, as is legal in Virginia. There was an "incident" in which we were approached by some Fairfax County Police Officers in response to a call they received about armed people entering the restaurant. They investigated, as they were obliged to do, found no one doing anything illegal, and left.
Here is what the Washington Post had to say about it in their biased and innacurate fashion on 7/15/04:

What do you know? NBC4 also has something now:

And
HERE is the thread about this on FreeRepublic.com. A friend who's a member posted my comments in post #82.
Perhaps this alarmist agitprop will cause some of the more lilly-livered anti-gun folks to stay out of Fairfax County. That would suit me fine. Perhaps they could move to DC, and enjoy the substantially higher crime rate. And if we could get them to cease meddling in Virginia and Fairfax politics, like a certain former first lady who isn't satisfied with carpetbagging in only one state at a time, Virginia would be a better place for it.
