Storm Mountain November 11, 2001

As you view these pictures, you'll see a caption contest begging to be run. I'll post the entries if there are any, and I will select the winning entry myself. The winner will get to hurt my feelings with their entry. If there is no winner (or no entries), you'll have to be satisfied with my own captions.

Some friends and I went out to Storm Mountain to shoot. It was awesome! Among the things we brought were my Lahti and my Thompson.

The drive out was interesting. Among the things we passed was a quad-mount machine gun (demilled) at an American Legion Post, the Coca Cola Museum, and the headquarters of Easyrider Magazine.

The weather was beautiful, and there was not a cloud in the sky. Here are some pictures of the range and the area. Click on the thumbnail for a larger image. Click on the "Full Size" to see the original size picture.

Here is the Lahti. Isn't she beautiful? Below you can get some idea of just how beautiful...

Me and my Lahti, strolling down the av-en-ue.

Here are some other folks enjoying the view from behind the sights.

Here are the rounds and the magazine, with some smiling people thrown in to provide scale.

At long last, I'm going to fire this beast. I saw it, fell in love, and bought it at Knob Creek in April 2000. It took more than a year and a half to finally hear it speak. It was definitely worth the wait.

The Lahti was kind enough to let me fire 10 rounds before blowing the magazine catch. Here's a picture of it afterwards.

Here is one of the handgun ranges, and a target car. The car pictures are before and after the Thompson. Rusty holes are before, and shiny holes are after.

Here we are shooting the car:
